A trip to The Castle of Tranquility
Finding Inner Peace: A Spiritual Journey to the “Castle of Tranquility
I want to ask you when was the last time you went on a cruise? May I take you with me on a short trip?
Let us move between the lines of this article.
In the sea of life, every person sails their own boat and faces many challenges. You might feel the pressure of high waves—the fear of the unknown, loneliness, anxiety, or even illness. But rest assured; relief is possible, and you are not sailing alone.
Rest assured, my friend. Don’t say it’s impossible to get relief when you’re feeling anxious.
What if I told you this:
A little child was thrown into a deep well and did not die. A young man was cast into the fire but not burned…

I hear your heart beating, scared, beating so hard, agitated like those waves, and asking, how come?! I will tell you. Allah is with you; you’re not sailing alone.
All you have to do is take necessary means and rely on Allah, paddle quickly, adjust your position, tie your sails, and let me tell you where the road to the Castle of Tranquility is.
1.The Anchor of the Heart: The Power of Dhikr
· Divine Companionship:
Let us open the map.
The central map to tranquility is a simple yet profound three-letter Arabic word: Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah).
You may wonder why it is not prayer or fasting. Dhikr is present in every act of worship.

Through Dhikr, you are never sailing alone. Allah tells us in a Hadith Qudsi: “I am as My servant thinks of Me… if he remembers Me within himself, I remember him within Myself”.
“أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنٍّ عَبْدِي بي، وَأَنَا مَعَهُ إِذا ذَكَرَبنِي، فَإِنْ ذَكَرَنِي في نَفْسِهِ ذَكَرتُهُ في نَفْسِي، وَإِنْ ذَگَرني في مَلَإِ ذَكَرْتُهُ فِي مَلإٍ خَيْرٍ مِنْهُمْ،
·Protection in Every Step:
Constant remembrance creates a divine shield. Whether you are facing distress or illness, Dhikr calms the heart and makes worship feel natural rather than a burden.
Practical Step:
Start your day with the morning Adhkar and protect your peace before sleep by reciting Ayat al-Kursi and the
Mu’awwidhat (Surahs Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas).
· The Prophet Yunus (AS) Example: Even
Even in the “darkness of the whale’s belly,” it was constant
Repeat with me:
“There is no god but You. Glory be to You. Indeed, I was among the wrongdoers.”
Let it settle in your heart. This is a supplication for anxiety.
I feel you are still feeling fear of waves, just say :
(بسم الله الذي لا يضر مع اسمه شئ في الأرض ولا السماء وهو السميع العليم)
“In the name of God, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-
Hearing, the All-Knowing.”
· Practical Step:
Start your day with the morning Adhkar and protect your peace before sleep by reciting Ayat al-Kursi and the
Mu’awwidhat (Surahs Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas).
How the Quran Heals the Aching Heart.
Now prepare your sail and place your trust in Allah.
2. The Quran: A Fortress of Divine Gifts
If the world feels heavy, look to the highest point on your spiritual map: The Book of Allah. The Quran is not just a text; it is a treasure of “Serenity”(Sakinah) “He is the One Who sent down serenity upon the hearts of the
(4 believer ….. ” (Surah Al-Fath
·Restoring Dignity:
“Do not falter or grieve, for you will have the upper hand, if you are true
(139 :believers” (Surah Aal ‘Imran
This verse reminds us that despair has no place in a heart filled with faith.

Serenity is a divine gift, sent to steady hearts during confusion and hardship.
· A Shift in Happiness:
The Quran moves our definition of joy from fleeting worldly gains to Allah’s mercy and grace
“Say, “O Prophet,’ “In Allah’s grace and mercy let them rejoice … “(Surah Yunus 58)
It shifts your understanding of happiness from worldly pursuits to Allah’s mercy, bringing contentment and
peace.
So hold firmly to the Qur’an, it places you on the straight path.
Allah says:
“So hold firmly to what has been revealed to you ‘O Prophet’ … ” (Surah Az-Zukhruf 43)
· Commitment to the Revelation:
To truly heal, give the Quran your best moments—recite it with an open, rested heart to receive its messages clearly
Physical and spiritual healing through prayer and supplication
Hold on tightly; the waves are strong.
3. Healing Both Soul and Body
Islam provides a holistic approach to wellbeing, acknowledging that we are composed of both physical forms and eternal souls.
· Seeking Treatment:
The Prophet # encouraged us to seek medical cures, stating that Allah created a remedy for every disease
Care for your body: eat well, exercise, rest, and sleep early. Take the means, but let your heart rely fully on
Allah.
Now you are walking on the path of taking necessary means and your heart is completely attached to Allah.
So, trust in Him.
Allah promises:
“And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He ‘alone’ is sufficient for them” (Surah At-Talaq 3)
· The Spiritual Connection:
While modern medicine addresses symptoms, spiritual emptiness is filled through prayer (Salah).
· Prayer as a Sanctuary:
When the Prophet ﷺ was troubled, he would rush to prayer, saying, “Give us rest with it, O Bilal”. It is the soul’s prostration under the Divine Throne.
4.Understanding the Reality of This World (Dun-ya)
Why do some sorrows remain? Because this life was designed as a “constant struggle” (Kabad) and a test.
·The Meaning of Rest:
As Imam Malik famously said, true rest only comes “with the first step into Paradise”
You are now changed. You see the world through Quranic lenses, and you know that all of God’s actions are good, and that this life is short, and the end of the road is Paradise, God willing.
· The Ultimate Goal:
Our journey ends when the soul is called back: “O tranquil soul! Return to your Lord … and enter My Paradise”
(Surah Al-Fajr)
Your Path Forward: From Contemplation to Action
The “Castle of Tranquility” is within your reach. It requires you to step away from the “dark sea” of digital distractions and return to the purity of faith.
Be patient, my friend. Stick to your Quran, and keep praying. Patiently enduring your hardship, hoping for Allah’s rewards. The world is only a test that will pass. Be certain that one day we will sit in the shade of a tree in heaven laughing at all this nonsense.
